Taylor Booth scored his first goal in an FC Bayern Munich jersey while playing with the U19s on Saturday. The 17-year-old American midfielder started and played 82 minutes. According to the match report, his goal came in the 32nd minute when Bayern were already up 1-0.
Booth made a delayed run from midfield into space, where his teammate passed him the ball from the by-line. He took one time from right outside the area and slotted it past the keeper. Booth’s goal began a three goals in 15-minute stretch. Bayern went into halftime up 4-0. They eventually won 5-1.
The U19s are coached by Sebastian Hoeneß, who is the son of former FC Bayern striker, Dieter and nephew of Bayern President, Uli. After the match Hoeneß spoke about the game.
All in all, we deservedly won. We dominated the game in long stretches, and could have had made the one goal or the other. With the result we are satisfied, but now we move on.
Congratulations to Booth for his first goal. We hope to see more goals come his way as he develops with Bayern’s youth teams.
