According to Oliver Mintzlaff, Timo Werner isn’t interesting in staying in RB Leipzig

There is much speculation about Timo Werner’s future, and a lot of teams are already following how his contract situation will unravel. RB Leipzig’s Chief Executive Officer Oliver Mintzlaff, in his interview with SkySports, gave us new insight into the current contract situation:

We want to extend it with him, but he has indicated that he would rather not extend.

With more and more reports show that Werner doesn’t see himself at Leipzig anymore, it opens another question — where will we see him play next season? Few reports are saying that Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich are leading the race for young attacker. But the latest report say that the Bavarians are cooling their interest in Werner.

But things aren’t definite yet, with RB’s CEO continuing:

We have to see what’s right for us and for Timo.

Ralf Ragnick was very public about Timo’s contract. If he doesn’t accept the current contract renewal, he will probably leave Leipzig this Summer as the club doesn’t want to see him leaving for free.

What do you think — should Bayern buy Timo Werner, or it would be an overkill?
