Bayern Munich star and Dutch legend Arjen Robben has now been out of action for months. More precisely, since November. Robben played his last game against SL Benfica and put a vintage performance in scoring a brace during Champions League play. Hopefully, that effort will not be Robben’s last game in a Bayern Munich jersey.
Robben is not sure about his future at the Bavarian capital and that frightens him. According to AZ, Robben said:
I have my doubts and I’m not sure if I can play for Bayern again this season.
After being sidelined for months now, the “flying Dutchman” also said: “It’s frustrating not knowing what it is exactly”, but his muscular problems remain.
The first major breakthrough was when two rotten teeth were discovered and removed. A quick comeback was expected, but Robben faced setbacks again as he tore his calf muscle.
Robben has not yet decided on his future
Aside of battling injuries, Robben is also trying to find a new club to play with for next season.
There are some inquiries and calls from clubs, but of course, I want to train again for a long period of time.
Recently, the 35-year-old was linked with a move to Toronto FC, and has also been mentioned with a few other notable teams including Inter Milan, PSV Eindhoven, and his home club FC Groningen.
Even with those rumors, Robben’s future is well in doubt. Not only his next move, but whether this injury will be the end of his career.
