UPDATE: 9:30AM EST

In what has to be a relief for Bayern Munich and Coretin Tolisso alike, the player underwent an examination that cleared the 24-year-old World Cup winner of any further damage after leaving practice earlier today with an apparent injury.

Tolisso’s training was cut short after a collision with Thiago Alcantara, but it now appears that it was just a minor knock and the player and team took the necessary precautions to protect the health of Tolisso, who has had a horrible run of luck this season.

2018 World Cup winner Corentin Tolisso has had a 2018/2019 season to forget for Bayern Munich. The talented 24-year-old had recently returned to team training and has been working toward a possible game appearance, but absorbed a hit in practice today and went down. The extent of the injury is not yet known, but Tolisso was able to leave the field under under his own power.

Tolisso engaged in a duel with Thiago Alcantara and came out worse for the wear. Sky’s Torben Hoffmann posted the video below of the Bayern players gathered around Tolisso after the incident.

Seconds of shock @CorentinTolisso during training! After a duel with @Thiago6, (Tolisso) stayed on the ground and held his right knee! After being treated and checked for a rather long time, he can continue! @SkySportNewsHD @SkySportDE @FCBayern

Tolisso initially tried to continue with the training session, but was unable to shake off the knock. Later Hoffmann posted this video of Tolisso leaving the pitch early:

Now @CorentinTolisso has to break off training after all! He signaled he has problems with his right knee! @SkySportNewsHD @SkySportDE @FCBayern

Tolisso’s ability to walk off the training pitch was a somewhat good sign. Any discomfort with his knee would be more than enough reason for Tolisso to call it a day and for the team to take precautionary measures.

Hopefully this is a minor setback on Tolisso’s hard-earned road to recovery.
