Introducing: Bavarian Podcast Works, a Bayern Munich podcast

So, a few months ago, this tweet went out to all of the Bayern Munich fans out there:

Look at those likes. That’s a big amount of likes. An un-ignorable amount of likes. Even @FCBayernUS liked it.

You wanted it, and we’re gonna give it to you. I am proud to announce that, starting this week, in conjunction with SB Nation Brands, we are releasing the first episode of our podcast: Bavarian Podcast Works. Check it out here:

BAVARIAN PODCAST WORKS, Ep. 1: “We’ve Got a Podcast Now”

Jake and Chuck debut Bavarian Podcast Works to the world. On our After 90 Minutes segment, we discuss the DFB Pokal match against Heidenheim and the recent Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund. On Der Ausblick, we look ahead to the upcoming match against Fortuna Dusseldorf. On The Newsroom, we talk the draw for the next round of the DFB Pokal, the resignation of Reinhard Grindel, and rumors about Arjen Robben to the MLS. Finally, on Before We Go, Jake defends Niko Kovac.

The format of the show is flexible, but it will most likely integrate the following features:

• After 90 Minutes: A recap of the most recent game for Die Roten (or “games” in the plural if it’s an Englische Woche). We’ll analyze the team’s play, storylines, injuries and more.
• Der Ausblick (The Outlook): A look ahead to any upcoming fixtures for Bayern Munich, highlighting key players, storylines and form, as well as providing predictions.
• The Newsroom: Where we discuss three of the biggest stories posted here on bavarianfootballworks.com.
• Before We Go: One big topic we’ll discuss — it can be as abstract or specific as we like.

Now, this will not be the only podcast we produce, and the format is not set in stone. We are concocting and testing ideas for future shows, but in the meantime we want to get this one right and put it out to the public before we start dabbling in other formats.

And who will be hosting the podcasts? Well, that will be myself as well as Podcast Manager and workhorse/typing cat Chuck Smith for starters. But the voices may change and some will be added and subtracted as guests join the show.

The point is this: get ready people! Because while the season may be ending, this is only the beginning.
