Per a release from FCBayern.com, Bayern Munich will head to China for an exhibit match on Maty 29th against the Chinese national team.

At the invitation and initiative of Allianz, FC Bayern Munich will be making a guest appearance in Beijing on May 29, 2019, eleven days after the last Bundesliga match day, where it will meet China’s national team as part of the “Allianz China Cup”. The venue will be the Olympic Stadium in Beijing.

This will be the fourth time Bayern will play in China, which has become an integral part of the club’s strategy for global marketing. Bayern has had its own office in China since 2016, an FC Bayern Football School in Qingdao, and also has two more football schools currently being built in Shenzhen and Taiyuan.

Per the release from Bayern:

The “Allianz China Cup” match on May 29 was the result of cooperation between Allianz, FC Bayern and the Chinese Football Association. In addition, an intensive German-Chinese exchange on topics such as sport, health and innovation will take place this autumn as part of a China Week in Munich organised by FC Bayern and Allianz.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has this to say on the upcoming jaunt:

Allianz and FC Bayern have been working together for many years on an international level. Our club has been active in China for many years and supports the development of football there through numerous initiatives. We very much welcome the commitment of our partner Allianz and look forward to being able to support the German-Chinese football exchange together in the long term.
