Bayern Munich received some good news and some bad news as far as status updates go on its injured players according to Sport1.

On the positive side of things, Leon Goretzka, Arjen Robben, and Franck Ribery are all back in team training, which should provide a boost to the offensive depth available to Niko Kovac against both Wolfsburg and Liverpool.

On the downside, however, David Alaba is still among the walking wounded. Alaba, of course, is Bayern’s stellar left back, and is one of the most valuable players on the squad.

There is very little depth at Bayern on the defensive flanks, though, which must be causing some major angst internally at Säbener Strasse. With Joshua Kimmich already out against Liverpool due to a suspension for yellow card accumulation, Kovac is already relying on Rafinha to man the right back position and the 47-year-old coach could have to get creative if Alaba cannot recover in time.

Should Alaba remain unable to play, Kovac will have very limited options for an experienced player that that position and may have to consider moving Niklas Sule to right back and pushing Rafinha to the left side.

Regardless, it is still early and there is plenty of time for Alaba to make a recovery.

The last injured or injured Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and Leon Goretzka are about to return to the squad of Bayern Munich. All three took part in the team training of the German championship champion on Tuesday morning. On the other hand were missing further David Alaba (tendon irritation) and Kingsley Coman (hamstring). Corentin Tolisso (cruciate ligament tear) trained individually.

While it can be assumed that Bayern is being ultra-conservative with the Austria international given his importance to the Liverpool match, it would be reassuring to get some positive news regarding his status prior to the weekend.
