After three successful seasons at VfB Stuttgart and a World Cup championship, Benjamin Pavard will join Bayern Munich at the end of 2018/19 season. The Bavarian Giants will have to pay 35 million euros for the Frenchman’s services.

Pavard will be the third French player in Bayern’s squad, but there may be more French players on the way as two other world champions are associated with a move to Bavaria — and Pavard may be trying to help the effort!

Atletico Madrid’s Lucas Hernandez was heavily mentioned as Bayern’s winter move, but in the end, nothing happened. In an interview with Telefoot, Pavard expresses his desire of playing with Hernandez:

I hope that he comes because he is a very good footballer and a dear friend. I have already sent him some news and I hope that he will come to Munich. That would be a great thing for him — and for Bayern too.

This is not the first time that Pavard has spoken of his hopes of teaming with Hernandez at the club level. In addition, Pavard also had praise for his national team colleague and Marseille winger Florian Thauvin. Pavard thinks that Thauvin would also be a good addition for Bayern Munich.

They are my friends and I am very close to them. If Bayern would like to know something about them, then I will only tell them good things.

It will be interesting to see if there will be even more French players with die Rekordmeister in the next season, but we can tell with certainty that one hell of a summer transfer window awaits us!
