Per Bayern Munich’s English account (@FCBayernEN), goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will miss today’s Bundesliga contest against SC Freiburg with a calf injury.
Neuer, who returned to Sabener Strasse after playing for Germany during the international break, was not reported to have sustained any injuries this week during training. It can only be assumed that this ailment happened over the course of the past two days or was lingering for a bit, which made the club decide to rest the 33-year-old.

Starting place of Neuer will be Sevn Ulreich, who made news this week in conflicting reports about his desire for a potential exit from Bavaria. Ulreich, of course, did an admirable job over the course of last season filling in for Neuer, when the starter was sidelined with an injured foot.
Freiburg has a potent attack, but could find itself struggling to gain possession against the ever-dangerous Bayern offense. Regardless, Ulreich will see his first action since leading Bayern to a 3-1 win over Schalke 04 on February 9th.
