Timo Werner is sitting on a new deal from RB Leipzig

Recent reports have linked RB Leipzig striker to Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain among others, but that has not deterred his current club from trying to entice the 23-year-old into signing a contract extension.

According to a report from SportBild, Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick detailed where the two sides are at with negotiations.

All points of view have been exchanged, and there is a signature from our side. But I don’t ask him or his agent every week what things look like. There is still plenty of time until the end of the season. After that, it will certainly be another topic that we will address, depending on what happens.

Rangnick, who is also coaching the squad until Hoffenheim’s Julian Nagelsmann arrives this summer, understands how the process works and will not apply any overt pressure on the player or his representatives.

The lack of a signature in this case is very telling for Werner. If the player had intentions of staying with Leipzig, he likely would not ignore the offer. Whether it is Bayern, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, or another club, it looks as if Werner’s time with Leipzig could be coming to an end.
