It has been a rough stretch for Bayern Munich as illness is hampering the squad’s effort to prepare for Borussia Monchengladbach.
With Arjen Robben already set to return next week and Kingsley Coman (muscle tear) and Corentin Tolisso (knee injury) also both still out, Niko Kovac will need his locker room to get healthy to make it through the match against Die Fohlen.
Bild’s Heiko Niedderer (@itstheicebird) reported that Mats Hummels and Sven Ulreich returned to training today, but the squad was still without Manuel Neuer and Franck Ribery, due to illness and also minus Leon Goretzka, who is nursing “tendon irritation.” David Alaba also missed the session, but no reason was provided for his absence.

Thiago Alcantara and Robert Lewandowski missed training earlier in the week, but apparently have returned to training according to the report. Lewandowski had missed with an illness, while Thiago was resting a minor knock.
UPDATE [7:45AM EST]
Kovac announced at his press conference that Alaba missed practice with tendinitis and could be back as early as tomorrow’s practice. The absence sounds more precautionary than serious.
Also, Ribery is going to miss the game against the Foals with what must be a very severe illness.
