Bavarian Grass Works: More exciting details on grass replacement at Säbener Strasse

New, comments

As always, Bayern Munich is seeking to make its facilities better.

Whether it is making an investment in new turf, technology to monitor the grass on the pitch, or the evaluation of sound at the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich is always seeking to provide the best environment for its players, staff, and fans alike.

With that mindset, the Bavarian club is installing new turf at Säbener Strasse as reported this morning on FCBayern.com and in the “Daily Schmankerl”:

The surface of pitch one at the Säbener Strasse facility will be replaced. Work has been going on since Monday morning. 390 pieces of new turf that are 38 millimeters (almost 1.5 inches) thick will be installed. The pitch will be ready on Thursday, in time for the training session in the morning.

In addition, the club will also be using special illumination at the Allianz Arena to celebrate Bayern Munich’s 119th birthday.

Happy birthday, FC Bayern! The Allianz Arena will be illuminated in red with white-blue diamonds on Wednesday February 27th from 17.30 CET to midnight. Inspired by the German record champions’ crest, the Arena will be sending birthday greetings to all Bayern fans in Germany and across the world. Those who can’t make it to Munich can still take a look thanks to the Allianz Arena webcam.
