Kingsley Coman suffers muscle tear, possibly out two to three weeks

Just nine minutes after coming on for Bayern Munich against Hertha Berlin, Kingsley Coman suffered an injury that puts his use against Liverpool FC in doubt.

Bayern Munich wasted no time at all in assessing the extent of Kinglsey Coman’s latest injury. A medical examination on Saturday evening produced the somber news: Coman has suffered a muscle tear in the area of his left hamstring (FCBayern.com).

Coman suffered the injury just nine minutes after replacing Franck Ribery in Bayern Munich’s 1:0 home victory against Hertha Berlin (on at 56’, subbed off at 67’). Coman had already struggled with an ankle injury suffered in Bayern’s victory against Augsburg. He had missed almost all the Hinrunde after suffering ligament damage in a hard tackle in the first game of the season against Hoffenheim.

Bild suggests that Coman will miss some two to three weeks, although Bayern’s official press release says no more than that Coman will be sidelined “for the time being” (vorerst”). His ability to play in Bayern’s season-defining home match against Liverpool FC is in any case in serious doubt.
