Bayern Munich legend Arjen Robben is making his third attempt to return to full fitness this week, while the team prepares to take on Liverpool.

The 35-year-old has been working hard to get back into the lineup, but has hit setbacks in each of his two initial attempts according to Bild.

In late November, the Oranje-Star made his last Bayern game. Since then he falls out because of a thigh irritation. After two and a half months, it should now finally work with the return for his last second round at the champions record. Robben completed a one-hour running workout with rehab coach Thomas Wilhelmi (51) on Monday morning while his colleagues flew to Liverpool.

The Dutchman’s presence for the Bundesliga race, the DFB-Pokal, and also in a return leg against Liverpool would be extremely valuable to Niko Kovac. With five goals and two assists in 15 games across all competitions, Robben has displayed the ability to impact games even as he inches toward his imminent exit from the club this summer.
