Can Bayern prove its doubters wrong next week?

Gündoğan thinks Bayern will have a tough time at Anfield (SportBild)

Manchester City midfielder and Germany international İlkay Gündoğan thinks Bayern Munich’s match against Liverpool at Anfield will be an up-hill battle. The 28-year-old acknowledged, however, that Bayern should also be considered a favorite at the Allianz Arena in March.

I know how hard it is to play at Anfield. I honestly see Liverpool a bit ahead of Bayern. They can develop huge momentum at Anfield that is second to none and you can concede three goals in 15 minutes. If Bayern can survive the first leg, then they can beat anyone at home.

Bayern again linked to Dybala (Münchner Merkur)

The on-again, off-again rumors linking Bayern to Juventus forward Paulo Dybala are back on...well, sort of. After a lackluster performance in his team’s 3-0 win over Sassuolo, Dybala is feeling the heat a bit in Italy, which once again triggered his exit rumors.

So things are not going well for Dybala, who still has a contract with the Italians until 2022. So it’s quite possible that this summer the ball wizard might look around for a new employer, who will give him more time to work. In that case, FC Bayern would come into play, who would have to dig deep into their pockets for the midfielder — Dybala’s market value is estimated at over 100 million euros — but they would get an outstanding offensive footballer. At the age of 25, the Argentine would still be at a good age to fit into Munich’s roster renewal.

I do not think Dybala is worth €100m. If Bayern is going to spend that type of loot, it should invest in Timo Werner and Matthijs de Ligt, seeing as it might cost only about €10m more to land both of them.

Lewandowski’s bicycle kick assist is still worth viewing (@FCBayernEN)

The bicycle kick assist from Robert Lewandowski on Serge Gnabry’s goal from Saturday is worth watching again...and again...and again.

Throwback: Alexandria Bayern Fan Club (@nova_bayern)

Back when we were profiling Bayern fan clubs in the Schmankerl, we ran into the group from Alexandria, Virginia, who were really great to work with. Well, our friends have moved into some new digs and the bar looks AWESOME! If you are in the area, you should absolutely check out this fun group.

Frauen headed for major showdown (@FCBfrauen)

If you get a chance, you may want to take a gander at the FC Bayern Frauen this weekend when they battle Wolfsburg on Sunday. These are two of the top squads in the world and it should be a fantastic match.

If you don’t know, Wolfsburg’s women are legit, but Bayern’s group should be up for the task.

If #FCBayern you can’t get to the stadium on campus on Sunday: The top #DieLiga game #FCBFrauen vs. @VfL_Wolfsburg will be available live at 3 p.m.: #FCBayernTVlive @DFB_TV ️ Magenta ➡️ http://bit.ly/AFBL_FCB-VFL Sport
