According to our favorite Bild writer Christian Falk, Jérôme Boateng is expected to be ready for action for this week’s upcoming Champions League group stage match vs Tottenham.
Update: @FCBayern is expecting @JB17Official to be ready for action on Wednesday against @SpursOfficial https://t.co/XScGPW06kO
— Christian Falk (@cfbayern) December 9, 2019
Given Bayern Munich’s annoying tendency to suffer injuries at the worst times, this is pleasant news. Bayern could little handle another long-term injury to our already decimated defense. Considering the fact that Bayern is already missing Niklas Süle and Lucas Hernandez, an injury to Boateng would have crippled the defense for the remainder of this half of the season.
Even though Wednesday’s game vs Tottenham will have absolutely zero effect on the standings, since Bayern’s last two Bundesliga matches were critical losses, getting back into the win column will undoubtedly assist in boosting the confidence and moral of a FC Bayern that suddenly find themselves sitting 7th (!!!!) in the Bundesliga, 7 pts behind Borussia Mönchengladbach, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, and even SC Freiburg.
Cuisance out for the Hinrunde (FCBayern.com)
Unfortunately, the news for Michael Cuisance is not good. He has officially been sidelined for the rest of 2019 after spraining his ankle in training earlier in the week. Gute Besserung and a happier 2020, Michael!
