Official: Adrian Fein extends his contract with Bayern Munich

To utterly misquote KHR: “Who wouldn’t extend such a Fein player?”

It’s official, Bayern Munich youngster Adrian Fein has extended his contract until 2023. The German has been on loan at Hamburg since the start of this campaign and has played a key role for the second-division club while stationed in the heart of the midfield. Hamburg sit in 2nd place on the 2.Bundesliga table and are a serious candidate for promotion.

The front office — Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, and Herbert Hainer, along with all Bayern fans — hope that Fein is able to play an important role for Bayern next season. This would further reinforce the return to form that Bayern’s youth division and academy are currently experiencing, with Alphonso Davies and Joshua Zirkzee recently breaking into the first team and making a significant impact.

Furthermore, Fein’s coming into the fold could spell an end to the pursuit of midfielders such as Espanyol’s Marc Roca and Manchester City’s Ilkay Gündogan — all of whom play in positions similar to Fein’s favored defensive midfield.

Given that both Thiago and Joshua Kimmich have had obvious struggles there this season, and Javi Martinez is on his way out, the youngster’s contract extension comes at an opportune time. Hopefully Adrian is extremely Fein there and can become a hallmark of this side for years to come!
