Bayern Munich II were cruising to a victory against SV Meppen in the 70th minute. They were up 3-1 and could see 7th place in the 3.Liga table within reach. Then, the bottom fell out and Meppen ran roughshod over the Bavarians.

The two sides went into the break level after a header from Bayern’s Timo Hern and a wonderful bicycle kick from Deniz Undav. However, it was Bayern that came all on fire to start the second half.

Chris Richards scored his first competitive goal for Bayern with a big header in the 51st minute, and Sarpreet Singh made it 3-1. The Bavarians were in cruise control.

Hassan Amin managed to pull one back for Meppen in the 74th minute, but Bayern still had a one goal lead with fifteen minutes left. So, what happened? Joshua Zirzkee received back-to-back yellow cards in the 80th minute and was sent off, just twelve minutes after coming into the game.

Hilal El-Helwe found the equalizer in the 83rd minute, and Undav headed home the winner two minutes later. In stoppage time, Marius Kleinsorge scored into an open net to finish off Bayern II and end an absolutely disappointing day for Sebastian Hoeneß’s squad.

Following the loss, Bayern II now sit in 14th place in the 20 team table. HOWEVER, there is some silver lining. 1860 Munich’s senior team is in 15th place.
