After Bayern Munich was humiliated by his former team Eintracht Frankfurt in a 5-1 rout, the club leadership initially determined to give Kovac at least two more games to turn things around. But despite Kovac’s own initial intention to keep on fighting, a subsequent meeting with CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, club president Uli Hoeness, and sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic led Kovac to tender his resignation, which the club accepted.
