On the back of a dominant 6-0 win against Red Star in the Champions league, the entire Bayern Munich squad, apart from three key players, returned to team training on what was a calm, mellow morning.

The trio of Robert Lewandowski, Benjamin Pavard and Alphonso Davies were missing from the team’s training session and instead trained individually in the performance center.

All three players have been key to Bayern’s recent success, with Pavard and Davies in particular having stepped their game up a notch as of late, registering impressive back to back performances in both the Bundesliga and Champions league. Perhaps all that game time is causing them to wear out, and today’s individual session would give the players a chance to recuperate.

Bayern coach Hansi Flick could’ve given them a day off of training himself, so that they get to rejuvenate themselves for upcoming fixtures. Bayern are currently heading into a tough stretch of games, with clashes against Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Monchengladbach, and Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur looming over the horizon. Let’s hope there is nothing to be concerned about, and the lads are back in regular team training at the earliest.
