There is some great news for Bayern Munich fans as defender Laura Donhauser has reached a contract extension to stay with the Frauen through 2022. The extension helps Bayern secure the immediate future of one of Germany's promising young players. Donhauser said,
I’m very happy about the contract extension. I’d like to take the next step in my development and I believe there is no better place to do that than FC Bayern.
The 18-year-old has been a regular with Germany's U19 side over the last year, helping them reach the Euro Final last summer. Bianca Rech, the sporting director of the Bayern Frauen said,
Despite double duty — school and training — Laura has developed very well in the past few months. [She is] a young player with a lot of potential, whom we have been able to accompany on her way over the years from the U17 team to the first team with the FC Bayern Frauen. We’re very glad and happy that we can take the next steps in her development with her.
Last season, Donhauser helped lead Bayern Frauen II to the club's first ever 2.Frauen Bundesliga championship.
