The latest breaking story comes from England where Tottenham Hotspur have just fired their coach Mauricio Pochettino. Pochettino was under intense pressure lately after an underwhelming start to the season. He led Tottenham to the Champions League final last season but failed to produce the same momentum in the next one.
Now, after Pochettino has managed Tottenham for five years, the club has decided that parting ways with him is the best solution to its current troubles. Tottenham’s website has crashed in the wake of the news, but the report is real:

Now the biggest question for Bayern Munich fans is this: will Pochettino be Bayern’s new manager?! The option is now more feasible than ever! Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić recently visited London. The reason behind that visit might soon be revealed.
It is reported that there are fans of Pochettino inside the club. The only mark against Pochettino is that he does not speak German.
UPDATE: Tottenham considering José Mourinho — taking him out of discussion for Bayern
Per Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham may soon open talks with José Mourinho as Pochettino’s potential successor. That is not especially interesting to fans of Bayern Munich per se, but it would (happily) remove Mourinho from any consideration at Bayern whatsoever.
Tottenham are considering José Mourinho as new manager, after sacking Pochettino. And José would be open to start a discussion with Spurs. Daniel Levy will decide on next hours. ⚪️ #THFC #Tottenham #Spurs #Pochettino

UPDATE 2: Tottenham’s release (tottenhamhotspur.com)
Tottenham Hotspur’s website is back online, enabling us to read what the club said about the surprise decision. Here is their statement in full:
The Club can today announce that Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino and Antoni Jimenez have been relieved of their duties.
Chairman, Daniel Levy, said: “We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste.
“Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.
“It falls to the Board to make the difficult decisions - this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff - but we do so in the Club’s best interests.
“Mauricio and his coaching staff will always be part of our history. I have the utmost admiration for the manner in which he dealt with the difficult times away from a home ground whilst we built the new stadium and for the warmth and positivity he brought to us. I should like to thank him and his coaching staff for all they have contributed. They will always be welcome here.
“We have a talented squad. We need to re-energise and look to deliver a positive season for our supporters.”
We shall provide an update on new coaching staff in due course.
What is your opinion — if Mauricio Pochettino was to become Bayern Munich’s new manager, would it be the right choice?
