Germany pounded Greece 5-0 on Tuesday to maintain their dominant start to Group I in Euro 2021 Qualifying.

The Germans opened the scoring in the 33rd minute through captain Alexandra Popp. Turid Knaak did a nice job keeping a ball in play and found Popp all alone in the penalty area. The Wolfsburg forward put the ball into the back of the net with a great finish to make it 1-0.

Seven minutes later, Lena Oberdorf headed home a free kick from Dzsenifer Maroszan to put Germany up 2-0. The 17 year old is pretty good.

Germany didn’t get their third goal until the 65th minute. Sara Dabritz had her shot saved, and the rebound fell to Pauline Bremer who put it into the post. Sandra Starke was on hand, however, and put that rebound into the back of the net to put Germany by three. Bremer would get her goal in the 75th minute, scoring a nice finish from an Oberdorf long ball over the top.

However, a couple of minutes from full time brought out the best from Klara Buhl. She put a laser ball into the back of the net, leaving the Greek goalkeeper with no chance. Buhl is going to be a star.

After four matches in Group I, Germany have 12 points with 31 goals scored and 0 goals conceded. Due to the unbalanced qualifying schedule, Germany won’t play another qualifying match until April when they’ll face the Republic of Ireland and Montenegro.
