Real Madrid jump Manchester United to sign Ajax stud (Mirror)

Accord to a report, Real Madrid is willing to pony up whatever cash is required to sign one of Europe’s most promising young players: Ajax’s Donny van de Beek. How much money? It’s a gobsmacking £100 million.

The midfielder is one of Ajax’s jewels that helped the club to last season’s UEFA Champions League Semifinal. He’s only seen his value increase over the last year, and with Frenkie de Jong leaving the Netherlands, his importance and value will likely only increase.

Die Folgen: Looking back at Bayern Munich’s loss to Hoffenheim

Losing sucks. Everyone hates losing. Unfortunately, we’re now heading into an international break, so there’s no chance for instant redemption this week. With such a big group of players, as always, heading off to join their national teams, Niko Kovac and his staff will have the usual small group of players at Säbener Strasse during the next two weeks.

It’s not all doom and gloom.

This is Bayern Munich.

Barcelona after Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez (Barca Blaugranes)

Lautaro Martínez has been linked with a big money move to La Liga heavyweights Barcelona in recent months. However, following Inter’s match against Barcelona midweek in the Champions League, Martinez tried to downplay the link. “I have only Inter in my mind I want to achieve many more goals with the club.”

Neymar wants to join Barcelona. He just wants to get paid was Messi does (Fox Sports)

We spent all summer hearing nearly non-stop about whether or not Neymar was going to be leaving Paris Saint-Germain for Barcelona or Real Madrid. So, of course, that’s not ending any time soon.

New reports say that Neymar is letting Barcelona already know now that he’ll join them next summer — as long as they’ll pay him what Lionel Messi currently gets paid.

That’s an estimated £500,000 per week. PER WEEK!

Haaland on Manchester United link: “F*cking boring” (Metro)

We know how terrific Red Bull Salzburg’s Erling Haaland has been in Europe so far this season, so it was only a matter of time before he was linked with Europe’s elite.

If we’re talking “Europe’s elite”, why are we talking about Manchester United? Who knows.

Anyway, Haaland doesn’t seemed to jazzed about discussing a potential transfer to England at this time. “It’s f*cking boring. I’m bored now.” I can easily see him making a move to the Bundesliga next season to Salzburg’s sister club in Leipzig.
