After Bayern Munich’s well-documented rout of Tottenham Hotspur this week, reports from the Sun state that Bayern wants to take more from England. According to the reports, Bayern are planning a transfer swoop of Jude Bellingham, a 16-year old midfielder who currently plays for Birmingham in England’s Championship (second division).

This move would pattern what Bayern did in the last transfer window, by continuing to bring in youth players to further develop in their academy system. Notably in the summer, they brought over Jamal Musiala and Bright Arrey-Mbi, who both played in Chelsea’s academy system. Other signings over the last year show that they are set on bringing young players in and developing them in house to learn their style of play.

Bellingham recently captained England’s U17 team in the Syrenka Cup. The Young Lion’s squad, who won the tournament, also included Jamal Musiala. Bellingham has two goals in three games playing for the U17s. He also scored four times in seven games for the U16s. He has also recently broken into Birmingham’s first team this season. He has already played six Championship games this season, scoring in two of those appearances.

The Sun also reports that multiple scouts from top European clubs were on hand as Birmingham traveled to Derby County last weekend. However, Bellingham was left on the bench for the duration of the match.
