FC Bayern Munich are scouting LOSC Lille striker Victor Osimhem, according to reports in France.

Osimhen, who joined Lille from RSC Chaleroi, has hit the ground running in France. Since joining the French outfit this year, the 20-year-old has scored eight goals and assisted two in all competitions, making him the second-highest goalscorer in Ligue 1.

Germany will be familiar territory for the Nigerian international. Osimhem joined VfL Wolfsburg in 2017, making a total of twelve Bundesliga appearances for the Wolves. Since then Osimhen moved on to pastures new in Belgium, where he enjoyed a successful loan spell at RSC Chaleroi, scoring twenty goals and making four assists. An impressive season saw the Nigerian join Chaleroi on a “permanent” basis after the Belgian club activated its €3.5m option to buy, selling him on to Lille a month later for €12m.

With respect to the future, Die Roten appear to be on the search for their next striker as they prepare for life without Robert Lewandowski and a backup in the meantime. Bayern will certainly hope Osimhem doesn’t add to the club’s injury portfolio should he make the move to Bavaria. The 20-year-old went off injured in Lille’s 3-0 victory against Girondins de Bordeaux.
