Bayern Munich and Lars Lukas Mai have agreed to a contract extension that will keep the youngster at the club until June 30th, 2022. Hasan Salihamidžić stated (FCBayern.com),
Lukas is a good lad and one of our biggest talents. At the age of 19, he’s already one of the key players for our reserves in the third division. We’re convinced he’ll continue to develop.

The 19-year-old defender has been impressing the brass at Bayern Munich since joining the club in 2014 from Dynamo Dresden’s youth academy. Mai has worked his way up from the U-15s to Bayern Munich II and has even made a couple of appearances for the first team. He was instrumental in the promotion of FCB II from the Regionalliga to 3.Liga last campaign.
Lars Lukas Mai was understandably thrilled about his deal. He told FC Bayern,
I’m very glad about the contract extension and the trust placed in me. I’d like to take the next step in my development, and I think there’s no better place for that than FC Bayern.
