Ivan Perisic and Javi Martinez both late for team meeting

The Bayern Munich players aren’t helping their case for more playing time with this (mostly) unforgivable sin.

Bild reports that Ivan Perisic and Javi Martinez were both late for a team meeting. Perisic arrived six minutes late, at 1:36 pm, for the 1:30 meeting, while Javi Martinez came a whopping seven minutes late at 1:37 pm. Martinez, who has been dissappointed with lack of playing time, surely did not help his case with this infraction — albeit small.

Inter-loanee Ivan Perisic has not received that much playing time either since his arrival to the club, although he has enjoyed more than Martinez. Niko Kovac disciplined Alphonso Davies earlier this season for tardiness. The Canadian had to pay up €20k of his hard-earned cash after showing up four hours late. Fortunately for Perisic and Martinez, Bild adds that they were able to explain their lateness “plausibly” and will not face a fine.

All eyes will be on Niko Kovac and Bayern Munich’s starting XI tomorrow as they are set to play FC Augsburg. There is a lot of talent on the squad but only eleven places. Will Kovac give Perisic or Martinez a chance to start?
