FC Bayern Munich Frauen midfielder, Giula Gwinn, has successfully undergone surgery on her shoulder and will be absent until the end of the year. The 20-year-old required surgery after suffering an injury in training preparing for the Frauen’s Bundesliga clash against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim last weekend.

Gwinn, who joined FC Bayern from SC Freiburg, featured for Bayern on seven occasions prior to her injury. The midfielder made her debut for Die Roten against her former club and assisted Jovana Damnjanović in a 3-1 victory at the Möslestadion. Gwinn has played a total of five hundred and twenty minutes for Bayern since her impressive debut against Freiburg. The midfielder has also featured in the clubs UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign against Göteborg FC.

Internationally, Gwinn recently represented Germany during UEFA European Women’s Championship Qualfiers. The midfielder assisted Alexandra Popp against Montenegro and scored and assisted once again in Germany’s ten goal thrashing of Ukraine. She was distinguished with the Best Young Player Award for her performances at the Women’s World Cup in 2019.

Gute Besserung, Giuli!
