Lewandowski leads team with two assists

Yesterday, Poland faced off against North Macedonia and won 2-0. This victory propelled the Polish National Team into qualifying for the European Cup in 2020 with two games left in their qualifying campaign. Surprisingly, Robert Lewandowski was unable to score in this match, but he nonetheless was instrumental in the attack, assisting both goals.

North Macedonia was able to withstand the pressure of the much stronger Polish side for over 70 minutes, but Poland’s attacking prowess won out in the end. Lewandowski and his Poland teammates now look forward to the summer where they will attempt to win their country’s first European Championship. Poland join Belgium, Italy, and Russia as the only countries to have already qualified for the tournament.

Croatia draw Wales 1-1

Ivan Perisic started and played the full 90 minutes for Croatia. Perisic played well and had a a great chance on target, but it was brilliantly saved by the Welsh goalkeeper. The 2016 World Cup runner-ups just do not look the same as they did in that tournament, but they are still leading their group. Wales earning a point keeps them in contention but still have a lot of work in order to qualify for the European Championship.

Unfortunately for Real Madrid, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale both fell to injury this match, but neither ailment seemed to be too serious.
