Serge Gnabry continued his impressive goal streak for club and country scoring yet again in the German National Team’s friendly against Argentina. He also assisted Kai Havertz’ goal. Gnabry is earning attention all across Europe after his 13-goal debut season with FC Bayern Munich last year and his great performance in the Champions League, scoring four goals against Tottenham Hotspur. Die Mannschaft’s sporting director, Oliver Bierhoff, also recently praised Gnabry’s performance and stressed Gnabry’s leadership abilities and attitude off the pitch (AZ):
He’s an important player not only on, but also off the pitch. He is very communicative and very open. The development is delightfully positive.
Bierhoff, who is a former striker for the German National Team, is especially pleased to see Serge rack up the goals at a record-setting pace:
As a striker, I’m happy that he is scoring goals, even at the first opportunity.
Gnabry and Germany will face off against Estonia for their next European Cup Qualification match on October 13th. Gnabry has been on fire for the DFB scoring 10 goals in his first 11 games, a feat he reached faster than legend Miroslav Klose.
