Bayern Munich’s record-transfer, Lucas Hernandez, has aggravated his knee once again while on international duty with France, according to Sport1. This comes after repeated warnings from Karl-Heiz Rummenigge and the Bayern Munich medical staff that the French defender still needed time to recover. Hernandez has now missed two training sessions with the French National Team but has worked out individually.

As colleague Manuel Bonke reported, Lucas Hernandez broke off training. True. According to our information, LH already complained the day before yesterday about feeling unwell on account of his problem knee after warming up. He already did not participate in the ensuing circle game.

TZ reports that Dr. Müller-Wohlfahrt, Bayern Munich’s team doctor, urged Didier Deschamps, France’s manager, to reconsider their decision on playing Hernandez with a personal letter. Deschamps however has been steadfast in his decision to call up Hernandez and wants to play him in this round of European Cup Qualifiers. With France facing off against Iceland today, all eyes will be on whether Didier Deschamps decides to play Lucas Hernandez.

Not a day and news about Lucas Hernandez: FC Bayern doctor Müller-Wohlfahrt write a letter to the doctors of the French Federation yesterday and urgently warned them not to allow Hernandez to play and train.

Lucas Hernandez is no stranger to knee injuries. Bayern Munich signed him after he suffered a season-ending injury last year while playing with Atletico Madrid. After completing rehab and starting several games for Bayern this campaign, he suffered another injury on the same knee and subsequently missed Bayern’s last two games.
