FC Bayern Munich continued their mid-season training camp today. Here are some of the highlights of what went on.
Robben’s status
Arjen Robben worked out individually again today. He continues to nurse his thigh muscles back to health. When AZ asked how he felt, all he said was, “it’s ok,” and that he is feeling “a little better.” His injury concerns make his availability against Hoffenheim in ten days questionable. As of right now the chances are low that we see the Dutchman play against Hoffenheim in the first match of the Rückrunde.
Others missed team training as well
Serge Gnabry, Joshua Kimmich, and Rafinha sat out team training today and had individual gym sessions instead. According to FCBayern.com, this was only to rest the three players. It doesn’t seem that there are any injury concerns. Corentin Tolisso also worked out individually as he works toward his comeback from his ACL rupture.
Niklas Süle speaks to the press
Süle spoke to the press today about the intense training that the team has had this week.
After the training sessions, the energy levels aren’t as high as at the start. Over the past few days we’ve worked hard on fitness and strength — and, of course, that tires you out from time to time.
The work here will help us in the second half of the season. We’ve still got a few days before it gets going again and I’m assuming we won’t carry on like this right through to the Hoffenheim game. Our coaches will make sure we’re fully on the case for the restart.
