Bayern Munich is just about midway through its winter training camp in Doha, Qatar, as the squad is being put through its paces in preparation for the Rückrunde. Bayern is officially on day five of the six-day training camp. Both Alphonso Davies and Niklas Süle spoke to the press following the squad’s two-hour training session in the morning.
The pair highlighted how good the team spirit has been throughout the camp and look forward to the opening match of the second half of the season against Hoffenheim.
With Doha being his first official training camp with the squad since joining from the Vancouver Whitecaps, Davies said he’s really enjoying himself in Qatar and feels he’s starting to gel with the rest of the squad (via @FCBayernEN):
The conditions here are ideal and I’m settling in well. We’re training hard every day and I’m giving 100 percent. It’s a real honor to be able to play for this club and share the pitch with these players. I’ve been watching @Thiago6, for example, quite closely in training - he is a role model for me.
Look at that beaming smile!

When Süle spoke to the press, he reiterated the positive team spirit in the squad despite the incredibly taxing sessions in the Doha heat. The center-back said that he feels the team is headed in the right direction with the aim of winning the league, starting with the first match of the Rückrunde against Hoffenheim:
We have great team spirit. The sessions in Doha have been very intensive so far - we were training for over two hours this morning. We’re putting ourselves in good stead for the second half of the campaign here. The goal is obviously to win the league, and I’m looking forward to getting back underway against Hoffenheim.
