Video: Alphonso Davies takes the pitch in Doha

As Bayern Munich takes the pitch for its training camp in Doha, Qatar, Canadian starlet Alphonso Davies is getting his feet wet with some extended action against his world class teammates.

As you can see in the video, there is a lot of emphasis on physical training and fitness, but there are also some great moments captured where you can see Davies flash some of his skill during drills. In what must be a very difficult situation given the language barrier, the former Vancouver Whitecaps star looks to be making himself right at home with his teammates.

The versatility of Davies will be the key thing to watch. It would appear that the 18-year-old is earmarked to compete in the wing rotation with Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, Kingsley Coman, and Serge Gnabry, but Davies was also used at left-back by Vancouver, which could be valuable to Niko Kovac.

With David Alaba such a valuable part of of the Bayern scheme, giving the Austrian some occasional rest would help ensure the squad is prepared for the the upcoming Bundesliga schedule and daunting Champions League duel with Liverpool.
