Here’s some good news (for a change). Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso has finally resumed training on the pitch! The Frenchman, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament against Bayer Leverkusen in September, seems set to meet the projected March return date. Potentially, if things go smoothly, he could even be an option against Liverpool in the Champions League.
In case you can’t actually believe something positive is happening for once, here’s a video from Bayern’s twitter that confirms it:

ACL injuries are notoriously difficult to come back from, so the fact that Tolisso’s recovery has gone smoothly so far is a good sign. The training right now will be geared towards getting fit and ready for an actual 90 minutes on the pitch.
As for how these things go — the next step would be to return to regular training with the ball. Once Tolisso is comfortable with that, he can return to team training and work back to full match fitness. We shouldn’t expect him to reach that stage until the end of February, but this has been a remarkably quick recovery for an injury so severe.
Let’s hope that no corners have been cut in the recovery process.
