Report says Dortmund has moved on from Werner (Kicker)

A report by Kicker states that Borussia Dortmund is no longer in the running for Timo Werner. That means Bayern is left to do battle with the other clubs rumored to be interested in Werner. Aside of RB Leipzig, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Juventus have all been linked to the pacey striker.

He was the big topic before the game on Saturday night. Timo Werner — and speculation about a possible move to Dortmund. You can save yourself all the excitement: according to Kicker’s information, BVB will not take the Leipzig attacker.

Werner is not shortlisted for the second wave of the Dortmund restart for sporting reasons. In Favre’s usual 4-2-3-1, the ideal position for the national player is missing: (Werner) is considered a fast-paced attacker in a system with two strikers rather than a classic outside player, which Borussia needs for the departing Pulisic. Although BVB will also sign a center-forward for the 2019/20 season, they are mainly scanning the market for a type of breaker that is still missing in Favre’s current portfolio.

Barca wins the De Jong sweepstakes (Sky Sports)

Despite previous reports tying Ajax starlet Frenkie de Jong to a Paris Saint-Germain transfer, it appears that FC Barcelona will sign the midfielder. One of the most coveted players on the European transfer market, De Jong was long-rumored to want a move to Barca.

Barcelona have won the race to sign Ajax star Frenkie de Jong, plus more from Wednesday’s European press. Our friends at Football Whispers have brought together the top news from around Europe as the transfer window nears its conclusion.

In addition, Mundo Deportivo (as captured by Sky Sports), provided this nugget:

Barcelona have won the race for De Jong. The 21-year-old’s agent reportedly sent Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, the two other interested parties, a message saying “Thanks for your interest, but Frenkie is going to Barca.”

Gunners would let Ramsey go early if they can procure James this month (Daily Mail)

Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey is set for a summer move to Juventus, but Unai Emery’s team would let him bolt earlier if it can somehow bring in Bayern’s James Rodriguez or Barcelona’s Denis Suarez.

Arsenal are willing to sell Aaron Ramsey to Juventus this month but only if they can complete loan deals for Barcelona’s Denis Suarez and Bayern Munich’s James Rodriguez. Welsh midfielder Ramsey has already completed a medical at Juventus with a view to a £10million transfer but the Gunners are reportedly keen to secure his replacement before letting him go. Ramsey’s Arsenal contract expires at the end of the season and manager Unai Emery has shown little interest in renewing it as he tries to overhaul the team.
