Report: Stuttgart rejecting Bayern Munich’s attempts to sign Benjamin Pavard in January

It seems that the Swabians are adamant about keeping their player until the end of the season.

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Bayern Munich signed Stuttgart's French defender Benjamin Pavard for 35 million Euros, and the player was set to join the club next summer. However, according to a new report by L'equipe, sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić is trying to bring the world champion to Munich before the closure of the winter transfer window on the 31st of January.

It is reported that Stuttgart rejected a sum of 40 million Euros offered by the Bavarians to make the winter deal work. Bayern will try and increase the amount up to about 45 million Euros, which would in turn make Pavard the most expensive player in the Bundesliga. Since Stuttgart have already signed Galatasaray's Ozan Kabak as Pavard's replacement, a move for the Frenchman this month cannot be ruled out.

Bayern will face Stuttgart on Sunday in the Bundesliga and Pavard is supposed to be fit for the match, after a six-week long injury in the right thigh muscle. With Atletico Madrid’s Lucas Hernandez already off the table, it is believed that Brazzo really wants to see Pavard in Munich this month itself and is willing to do what's best to make it happen.
