It looks increasingly likely that Arjen Robben will miss the opening game of the season against TSG Hoffenheim on Friday. According to AZ, Bayern Munich’s veteran winger was still unable to participate in team training on Tuesday and instead worked on his fitness individually. FC Bayern’s official twitter gave fans a glimpse of the Dutchman at work:

Robben has been struggling with a problem in his thigh throughout the winter break. He also was unable to participate in any team training sessions during Bayern’s winter camp at the Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar.
Since Robben is sidelined indefinitely for the time being, it is almost certain that Serge Gnabry will start for Bayern on the right flank at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Sinsheim. Kingsley Coman is also an option for the right flank, if Kovac opts to start Franck Ribery on the left.
Bayern’s campaign to catch Borussia Dortmund begins on Friday (2:30pm ET/7:30 CET) away against Julian Nagelsmann’s Hoffenheim.
