Per a release by FCBayern.com, the performance testing regimen was developed by Dr. Holger Broich, scientific director and head of fitness at Bayern, and was conducted in collaboration with the scientific support team of Prof. Joachim Mester.
Specifically, players go through five stations, while also having their weight and body fat measured. Stamina is monitored via treadmill testing and a breathing mask, while tests were also performed for speed, reaction time, and balance. The testing program started last season.
In addition, the program for Bayern’s U16 to U23 teams is the same program used by the first team.
