The plot thickens a bit in the drama surrounding the possible transfer of Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi to Bayern Munich.
It appears that Hudson-Odoi sought out the advice of a player who might have some experience in making the jump from England to Germany: Borussia Dortmund phenom Jadon Sancho.
Sancho revealed his talk with Hudson-Odoi, which was captured by the Daily Express. The Dortmund star gave insight as to what he told the Chelsea winger:
Me and Callum are close friends. We’ve played with each other at England. He’s the next one I would say. He’s very good, very talented, fast and good dribbling skills. I have told him the Bundesliga is a nice league. I just told him to do whatever is best for him and whatever makes him feel comfortable.
Sancho and his fellow Englishman Reiss Nelson of Hoffenheim have made a direct impact on their respective squads this season in the Bundesliga. Sancho has been especially impressive as he has tallied seven goals and 10 assists in 24 games across competitions for BVB.
Somewhat ironically, it is the emergence of Sancho for Dortmund that might have made the Black and Yellows more open to letting Christian Pulisic leave for Chelsea in the summer. In turn, Pulisic’s presence with Chelsea for the 2019-2020 season could be seen as one more roadblock for Hudson-Odoi to get the playing time he desires at Stamford Bridge.
