Three can’t-miss matches for Bayern fans this international break

With so many international games coming up over the next two weeks, we break down the three matches that you don’t want to miss!

There are a lot of international matches taking place over the next two weeks, including eleven featuring Bayern Munich players. That’s a lot to take in, so we looked at all of your options and have come up with the top three matches that you should focus on during the international break.

Yes, only one of them is the Germany match; however, with the new UEFA Nations League debuting during this international break, those will deserve more focus than your standard friendly matches.

Germany vs France

Location: Allianz Arena, Munich, Germany
Date: September 6, 2018
Time: 20:45 local, 2:45 Eastern
TV/Streaming: Find Your Country
Bayern players: Corentin Tolisso (France), Jerome Boateng, Leon Goretzka, Mats Hummels, Joshua Kimmich, Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer, Niklas Süle (Germany)

No match will feature more Bayern players than Thursday’s Germany vs France encounter in the new UEFA Nations League. A total of eight Bayern players will suit up, seven for Germany and one for France. Germany will be looking to take all three points in this match, as anything less is a big advantage for France in the three team group (also including Netherlands). With Bayern having the most players in the Germany squad, one assumes that most of them will get the start on the field at the Allianz Arena. Big advantage?

England vs Spain

Location: Wembley Stadium, London, England
Date: September 8, 2018
Time: 19:45 local, 2:45 Eastern
TV/Streaming: Find Your Country
Bayern players: Thiago Alcantara (Spain)

Thiago Alcantara is one of the best midfielders in the world, and I won’t listen to anyone say anything different. This is a huge match for both teams, as their UEFA Nations League group also includes World Cup runners-up Croatia. If Thiago gets the opportunity to build the string-puller for Spain, expect big things.

Spain vs Croatia

Location: Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero, Elche
Date: September 11, 2018
Time: 20:45 local, 2:45 Eastern
TV/Streaming: Find Your Country
Bayern players: Thiago Alcantara (Spain)

The chance exists that we’re going to see two world class midfielders face each other in this one with Thiago Alcantara and Luka Modric on opposite sides of the field. This will be the second match for Spain as part of the UEFA Nations League. If they lose the England match, three points will be basically required out of this match against Croatia. If they come away from these matches with zero points, they’re already putting one foot on the relegation line after only two matches.
