Twelve Bayern Munich players called up for international duty

Even with James Rodriguez not joining Colombia, it’s going to be a very busy international break for Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich players never get a rest during international breaks, and the current September one is no exception. A total of twelve Bayern players will be traveling across Europe over the next two weeks to take part in matches for their countries.

Of course, the normal Germany group of Bayern players boasts seven players this time. Jerome Boateng, Leon Goretzka, Mats Hummels, Joshua Kimmich, Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer, and Niklas Süle headline the roster. Former Bayern players Toni Kroos and Nils Petersen have made the squad.

James Rodriguez will not be joining Colombia during this break as they are allowing him to remain in Munich to continue recovering back to 100% from his World Cup injury. He’s almost back to his normal self and not having to travel to South America and back will do wonders for him.

Elsewhere, David Alaba, Corentin Tolisso, Robert Lewandowski, Renato Sanches, and Thiago Alcantara will join up with Austria, France, Poland, Portugal and Spain respectively.

Austria: David Alaba

France: Corentin Tolisso

Germany: Jerome Boateng, Leon Goretzka, Mats Hummels, Joshua Kimmich, Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer, Niklas Süle

Poland: Robert Lewandowski

Portugal: Renato Sanches

Spain: Thiago Alcantara
