Juventus may be ready to make a move for Renato Sanches (Calciomercato)

According to Calciomercato, Juventus and AC Milan will do battle over Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches. Of the two Serie A powers, Juventus is considered more likely to land the Portuguese midfielder should Bayern decide to place him on the market.

Milan and Juventus are on his trail, with the Bianconeri who could also exploit the good relations with the agent of the player Jorge Mendes after the business linked to Cancelo and especially Cristiano Ronaldo. With a Renato Sanches rediscovered however, it is difficult for Bayern to sell him for a figure of under 30 million euro.

It seems a bit premature to be throwing around monetary figures on Sanches after one game, but such is the nature of transfer rumors.

This doesn’t bode well for Schalke (@bundesliga_en)

Remembering Robert Lewandowski’s “5 in 9” game (YouTube)

It’s the three-year anniversary of Robery Lewandowski’s historic “five goals in nine minutes” performance against Wolfsburg.

Lewandowski, who seems to enjoying life this season, took a minute to think back on that game.

Some records from the moment:

Chris Richards offers heartfelt Happy Birthday to his mom (@eastmamba)

Is there anything not to like about this kid? Come on Carrie Richards, tell us he at least rolls his eyes when you ask him to take out the trash!

Least shocking news ever: Berni pounds morning beers (@FCBerni)

O’ZAPFT is! I wish everyone a beautiful and peaceful #Wiesn2018! #FCBayern #MiaSanMia

Bayern and FC Dallas are teaming up to develop more than just players (FCDallas.com)

Bayern and its U.S. partner, FC Dallas collaborated to build a “mini-pitch” (aka futsal court) in Little Elm, Texas.

Spreading the Beautiful Game. FC Dallas, CoServ and FC Bayern Munich dedicated a brand-new mini pitch to Lakeside Middle School in Little Elm on Sept. 19. The initiative is part of the FC Dallas Foundation’s commitment to promote a healthy, active lifestyle for underserved youth by building safe places for them to play soccer. This is the second of three pitches being built through the partnership between FC Dallas and CoServ.

I see Phonzie on that scarf and all I can think of is the other “Fonzie”:

A call for fan groups (BavarianFootballWorks.com)

We are trying something here at the Daily Schmankerl and need YOUR help. If you read my man Tommy Adams’ piece about his experience with the FCBNYC Fan Club (if you haven’t, SHAME ON YOU!), you could see how great the event was. So we want to highlight some of these wonderful groups that are out there globally and this is what we need from you:

  • Name of the group
  • Location
  • Year founded
  • Leadership (if you have people are kind of running the show)
  • Meeting place
  • Social media handles
  • Pictures

We have 7 clubs on board so far. I’d LOVE to be able to feature a different fan group every week this season. Maybe we can do it, maybe not...but only YOU can help decide the fate of this idea. Send your info to: barrelsportsblog@gmail.com.
