Tedesco looking to rally after inauspicious start to season

Bayern Munich should prepare for a fight at the Veltins Arena.

Schalke has not exactly started its Bundesliga campaign on the best footing. They’ve played three matches, lost all three, and have only managed to score two goals total. They did manage a draw with Portuguese champions FC Porto in their Champions League group stage match, but now they face the daunting task of taking on Bayern Munich.

Domenico Tedesco, already feeling the hot seat at the ripe old age of 33, vows to circle the wagons and send a “message” against Bayern. If Tedesco is going to convince the Schalke board to keep him on as manager, that message better be an end to Bayern’s mind-boggling eight-year Bundesliga winning streak against them. Schalke is still a talented squad. They operate one of the best youth development programs in the country, and their young squad is currently playing well below their talent level. They’re going to rebound eventually and it just might be at home for one of the most critical matches of the year.
