The top 100 rated players for FIFA 19 from 100-21 have been released. The fact that a bevy of Bayern Munich players cracked the top 50 should come as no surprise. FIFA has yet to release the top 20 players, but it’s easy to guess most of the players who are going to comprise that list.

As far as the overall rating for each player is concerned, FIFA breaks it down by averaging six major categories of play. For outfield players, the main six attributes measured on a scale of 0-100 are pace (PAC), shooting (SHO), passing accuracy (PAS), dribbling ability (DRI), defensive ability (DEF), and physicality (PHY). For goalkeepers, the six categories are diving (DIV), handling (HAN), kicking (KIC), reflexes (REF), speed (SPD) and positioning (POS). There are, of course, smaller sub categories that are assigned to each player but the basic set of 6 attributes defines what overall rating each player receives.

Bayern will also be one of 10 teams included in the FIFA 19 demo, which will be available for download on September 13th. The other teams included are Real Madrid, Manchester City, AS Roma, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid.

Bayern Munich ratings in ascending order (lowest to highest)

#93 - Joshua Kimmich : 85 overall rating

#87 - Arjen Robben : 85 overall rating

#85 - David Alaba : 85 overall rating

#68 - Jerome Boateng : 86 overall rating

#67 - Thomas Muller : 86 overall rating

#62 - Thiago Alcantara : 86 overall rating

#36 - James Rodriguez : 88 overall rating

#23 - Mats Hummels : 89 overall rating

Neuer, Lewandowski break the top 20

Manuel Neuer and Robert Lewandowski are the best-ranked players in the Bayern Munich squad and are the only two to break into the top 20. In FIFA 18, both players broke into the top ten and were the only two members of Bayern’s squad to break into the top 20. Neuer boasted an overall rating of 92 while Lewandowski was one point behind him at 91. Neuer was the highest ranked keeper but his injury problems for most of last season very well could impact how he’s rated for FIFA 19. This year, Lewandowski and Neuer rank #11 and #12, respectively.

A peak at their FIFA cards:

Kimmich will now have some bragging rights over Muller, too, as he just beat him out in the physicality department — the defender ranks one point higher with a score of 72 over Muller’s 71. Additionally, Leon Goretzka didn’t crack the top 100 list in the ratings, but he has one of the most well-rounded FIFA cards of any midfielder in the game with an overall rating of 83. Most importantly, his pace, dribbling, and passing are all in the 80’s and his defense and physicality are right behind, both rated at 78. Most non-defensive midfielders have a much larger gap between their offensive and defensive attributes in FIFA, and it wouldn’t be too surprising to see Goretzka’s rank get better as squad updates are inputted into FIFA’s servers.
