Jerome Boateng’s stock may be driven up given the likes of the bidders allegedly pursuing the Bayern Munich center back. With Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain already heavily in the mix, Arsenal may be making a last minute effort to bring in the German international.
Per a report by kicker, the Gunners will have their work cut out to step in front of Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain, but they will attempt to lure in Boateng anyway.
According to kicker’s information, in addition to Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United is also interested in Jerome Boateng. The center-back knows the city from his time at rivals Manchester City, where the 29-year-old played as a young professional in the 2010/11 season. Boateng has been under contract with FC Bayern for seven years and is still tied to the German record champions until the summer of 2021. Also, Arsenal allegedly has Boateng in focus. So it could come to a bidding war for Boateng, for whom Bayern would like to pocket a 50 million euros transfer fee. Interesting: in England the transfer window closes already on August 9th.
Arsenal has the disadvantage of not competing in the Champions League this season, but it remains to be seen what Boateng’s are at this stage of his career. Would he prefer to take the biggest contract offer or would he rather to join the team with the best chance to win a UCL crown?
If a Premier League team is in Boateng’s future, the decision will need to come quickly as England’s transfer window closes on August 9th.
