Leon Goretzka suffered what appeared to be a minor ankle injury in the first half of Bastian Schweinsteiger’s testimonial match, a friendly between Bayern Munich and the Chicago Fire. Goretzka was brought down hard by Christian Dean near Chicago’s goal line. Goretzka remained laying on the pitch behind the line and indicated that he needed to be treated.
Team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt was on hand to attend to Goretzka. The good news: Goretzka was able to walk off the pitch under his own power, in marked contrast to Kingsley Coman, whom Bayern lost last Friday to a similar, but much severer incident in the season opener against TSG Hoffenheim.
Leon Goretzka has been forced into an early substitution and is replaced by Jeong WooYeong.

Goretzka was replaced by Woo-Yeong Jeong. Hopefully, he has suffered nothing more than a sprained ankle. We will look for news of his status and update the story accordingly.
