Jerome Boateng is still looking for a move away from the Allianz Arena and PSG have come back into the transfer mix over the last few days. With only five days until the close of the transfer window, Bayern Munich need to make a move fast to sell him.
So, today’s report from Kicker that PSG were offering a swap deal for Boateng was an interesting one; especially because Bayern would be receiving Julian Draxler.
Draxler, a notable thorn in Bayern’s side during his time at Schalke and Wolfsburg, has been plying his trade in Paris since January of 2017. The 24 year old winger has been playing second fiddle to Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, but managed nine goals and seven assists over his two seasons for Les Parisiens.
Like Boateng, Draxler has been looking for a move to a new club, and Sevilla have been looking to take him to Spain on a loan deal. However, it appears that the move to Spain may be falling apart.
Bayern would not normally need another young winger, but the loss of Kingsley Coman to injury has really hurt the club. This may be a great opportunity to bring a potential half of the Robbery-replacement corps in for no additional fee.
With time winding down, it’ll be interesting to see if this deal actually manifests. If so, Bayern fans may feel that Die Roten came out on the positive end of this one.
