In what has been a roller coaster of a day for Bayern Munich fans, one report is circulating out of Catalonia that Arturo Vidal’s apparent move to FC Barcelona is a done deal and has subsequently ended Barca’s interest in Vidal’s teammate Thiago Alcanatara; while another states that Vidal is a only a potential option for the La Liga side.

Per RAC1, Vidal’s deal could be done as early as today and a signing of Vidal would end the club’s interest in Thiago.

The Chilean player from Bayern Munich Arturo Vidal will be a new player of Barça, according to confirmed sources from Bayern to RAC1. Between tonight and tomorrow he will become a blaugrana, after Ernesto Valverde has been asking for him the last few days. He is a 31-year-old international Chilean who is very strong and with a profile very similar to that of Brazilian Paulinho, who left for Chinese soccer.

Initially, the operation would have nothing to do with the potential signing of PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The transaction could be completed for about 30 million euros, 20 million more than Chinese club Evergrande Guangzhou will pay for Paulinho once his transfer is complete with a mandatory purchase option. In this way ex-Barca player Thiago Alcantara will lose the opportunity to return to the club where he was trained and will possibly go to the Premiere League.

The plot thickens, however, as another report out of Spain is not quite convinced that the Vidal deal is a sure thing. @BarcaUniversal released a tweet citing a report by Catalonia Radio (no web source was currently available) that Vidal is only a potential option for Barcelona at this stage; which would, of course, put Thiago back in the Catalan mix.
